Really...Where in that yellow highlighted are does it specifically state that a PTC cert is required? I did not see the letters PTC once in that whole article?
So being a Class 2 with a year to 3 on does not give you knowledge or experience?

to be a rairoad cop in NJ you need a little over 400 or so hrs of academy training so I think Class-II is ok, my Class-II was 640 hrs and it was good enough for NYS&W railroad I just turned them down for something else a couple of yrs ago but I know a few guys that went there from the Essex Deputy Program which is a Class-II cert. You will however need to get commissioned by the NJ State Police which is no easy task, it is like a huge background investigation basically.
Good Luck !!!

Railroads have hired class II in the past.

Rumor is they may have approval to put people through the academy.  They want to start to get younger people.

Stating salary is 60,328 + a take home car.

Apply at http://www.csx.com and go to careers and do a job search.

I talked to an HR lady in Jacksonville. If you are not already academy certified you must have a bachlor's degree. They are also taking applications internally for those intrested in getting a trainee slot.
